project statement
Rendered in pink neon, the outline of the Green Line glows with a kind of seductive, commercial beauty, the same visual language used to sell products and draw eyes in storefronts. I wanted that tension. Borders are not natural. They are drawn, redrawn, illuminated, and enforced.
The neon form asks viewers to look at a contested territorial outline the way they might look at any glowing sign, and then to sit with the discomfort of what that outline actually represents: displacement, occupation, and the ongoing erasure of the line itself as facts on the ground continue to shift.
