I am attracted to the narrative qualities of art.  Working with found images and my own photography, I create imaginary places, people, and events which seem oddly familiar to everyone.  My work is most successful when it evokes a sense of mystery and wonder, and stirs a faint recognition of a distant memory or dream one once had.
Having traveled extensively before the age of ten, bits and pieces of the countries I visited appear in my imaginary landscapes.  They are not accurate representations, but scenes that remind me of a particular place or time.  Subtle oddities incorporated into my work create a sense of mystery, encouraging the viewer to look closer and invent their own story.
The possibilities that can occur from the combination of photography and printmaking are endless. Screen printing allows me to create photo-like images out of collages, and various transfer methods allow me to produce a more painterly photograph.
